WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Conveyancingprices.co.uk is powered by Conveyancing Index (iPlace Global Limited). They work with a network of conveyancing firms. We collect information about you through our website (when you complete our form to compare prices) and securely send it to Conveyancing Index. Conveyancing Index will match your requirements to relevant conveyancing firms that would like to provide you with a quote – they will share your data with them to facilitate this. Conveyancing Index and the conveyancing firms that you are matched to may contact you by email, phone or sms to discuss your requirements in more detail. If you ask us to recommend a mortgage broker then Conveyancing Index will also share your information with a mortgage broker.

Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is First Light Leads Ltd of 56 Leman Street, London, E1 8EU. Our ICO registration number is ZA087659. First Light Leads Ltd may also be a data processor in relation to the personal data you provide to us. This is applicable in cases such as where you ask us to share your information with conveyancing firms that would like to provide you with a quote.

REMARKETING AND BEHAVIOURAL TARGETING

The way it works is that, when you visit our website your web browser automatically sends certain information to Google. This includes the URL of our site and your IP address. They will match your requirements to conveyancing firms that can meet your needs and share your data with them so they can provide conveyancing quotes. iPlace Global (Conveyancingindex.co.uk) and the conveyancing firms may contact you by telephone, email and / or sms to discuss your requirements in more detail;
    • Layer 5 Solutions Ltd, (“Layer 5”) based in the UK, to host our website;
    • Rocket Science Group, LLC for use of their service, Mailchimp (“Mailchimp”) based in the US, to send you our newsletter (if you consent) and / or ask you for feedback about our service;
    • Google LLC. (“Google”) based in the US, for the storage of documents that include your personal data on Google Drive, to provide more personalised advertising to you as described above in conjunction with Google Ads, to improve ad measurement, and Google Analytics to monitor use and traffic to our site and find ways to improve it;
    • Microsoft Inc. for use of their service, Microsoft Ads (“Bing”) based in the US, to provide more personalised advertising to you as described above;

    • Briteverify UK Ltd, (“Briteverify”) based in the UK to verify your email address when you provide it to us;
    • Liquid New Media Limited for the use of their service Reviews.co.uk (“Reviews”), based in the UK, when you provide us with a review;
    • Defiant, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Wordfence”), based in the US, to provide website security;
    • Select business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with you.

We will disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If First Light Leads Ltd or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Website Terms and Conditions and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of First Light Leads Ltd, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION?

All personal data we process is processed by our staff and contractors who are based both in the UK and outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

For the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Economic Area.

Some of our external third parties such as Google, Rocket Science Group, Inspectlet, Dropbox and Leadspedia are based in US, outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside the EEA. We also have developers who are based in India who may have access to your personal data as part of their activities for our business.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

  • Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in Europe.
  • We may also transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission.

Once we have received your information, we have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data and we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

However and unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website at transmission stage; any transmission is at your own risk.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
